A Note To My Readers

I have made a small but important edit to the issue of the newsletter I just published, entitled “Why I Write.” If you are a subscriber, you may have received a version which, towards the end, referred to writing that serves purposes of good or evil. Not wishing to be misunderstood as endorsing evil writing, I have removed that reference and replaced it with a less objectionable phrase.

Writing is nothing without rewriting, and it is better to complete the rewriting before we publish. But if an edit is important enough, I say better late than never. This time, I concluded that it was. Thank you for your indulgence.
