For you regular readers, this week I missed my usual Sunday afternoon target for issuing the newsletter. The reason I missed it is that I was busy preparing to publish my latest Higher Callings podcast episode, in which I interviewed my friend, Renee Landers, a professor of constitutional law and other courses at Suffolk University Law School. Admittedly, I’m a bit of a Supreme Court junkie, but I found Professor Landers’ discussion of some of the cases the Court issued towards the end of this term very interesting and informative. We also talked about the current controversy over a code of conduct for Supreme Court Justices, an area very much within Professor Landers’ wheelhouse.
If any of you would like to hear my guest’s take on some of the most significant end-of-term SCOTUS decisions, and their implications for civil rights and our democracy, you can find the episode here: Supreme Court Roundup. And please feel free to browse the podcast website, where I hope you’ll find other guests and topics that interest you.
I’ll try to get the newsletter back on track for this coming Sunday. In the meantime, and during our national heat wave, stay cool!
